Mitsubishi HC5000 using the next-generation C2 Fine™ LCD panel reproduces top quality images in HD resolution whilst maintaining high contrast levels, and the newly developed HD compatible lens ensures the images are projected perfectly to the screen. The Mitsubishi designed auto iris is capable of sharpening images for contrast ratios as high as 10,000:1.
The HC5000 incorporates the latest video processing chip from Silicon Optix, including its Hollywood Quality Video (HQV) technology. HQV features full 10-bit processing and superb I/P (interlaced to progressive) conversion and scaling. Combined with HDMI and DVI connections, that means there is nothing lost in translation from your highest quality video source to the screen.

In order to display full-HD resolution, equipped with a lens system comprised of 17 elements in 14 groups, including three ED (extra-low dispersion) lenses, which are more costly and deliver higher performance than conventional glass lenses. This lens system dramatically improves chromatic aberration and peripheral focus
To allow impressive big-screen images to be enjoyed even in a small room, the Mitsubishi HC5000 is equipped with a 1.6x power zoom and focus. The projection distance for a 100-inch (16:9) picture is just 3.1 meters. In addition, to enable the screen adjustments no matter where in the room the projector is placed, there is also a power lens shift for moving the lens vertically and horizontally, greatly increasing installation flexibility.
Most high-definition sources employ 1080i interlace signals. When displayed by an LCD projector (fixed-pixel element), they are converted to 1080p signals, and this I/P conversion significantly affects picture quality. The HC5000 is equipped with the latest Reon VX chip produced by the US company Silicon Optix, a chip widely used on high-end AV equipment and which has earned an outstanding reputation among industry professionals.
For DVD playback, the projector is also equipped with a high-precision filter for pixel conversion processing and HQV noise reduction to reduce mosquito noise and blocking, ensuring high-quality picture reproduction.
Due to the redesigned cooling system and the use of a low-noise fan, operating noise has been reduced to an amazingly low 19 dB.
The Mitsubishi HC5000 is equipped with an auto iris featuring a proprietary Mitsubishi Electric aperture design. A unique algorithm enables detection of color information in addition to conventional brightness information, so the color information in dark scenes can be vividly reproduced without getting lost.
The optimum design for temperature control of the new color light source lamp, as well as Mitsubishi Electric’s unique lighting timing, have extended the useful life of the lamp to a maximum of 5000 hours.
To prevent dust from adhering to the LCD panel, the LCD block is equipped with a dust protection cover.
