Auto lamp control technology
On detecting that it has been left on with a static signal feed, the Sony VPL-EX221 auto-reduces the lamp's brightness sequentially over time based on intervals set by the user. Full brightness is restored instantly only upon receipt of a new signal, thereby significantly reducing energy consumption
New picture blank function
Activated easily via the supplied Remote Commander unit, this function temporarily disables video signal output and allows blank image projection with low power consumption
Synchronized lamp and filter maintenance
A high-performance lamp and advanced lamp-control technology means the VPL-EX221 delivers an extremely long lamp replacement time of 7,000 hours*. (*Approximate recommended period, in low mode) Synchonizing the timing of lamp and filter maintenance reduces the number of 'ladder climbs' for maintenance, thereby saving labor time and cost.
ECO MODE Key and gauge
With a single push on either the projector or the supplied Remote Commander™ unit, users can activate an energy-saving setting from the ECO Mode menu. On shutdown, the ECO gauge displays the amount of energy saved based on usage of the ECO functions.
