Designed for demanding classroom and business environments, the Sharp Notevision XR-20S is a compact DLP projector engineered to deliver high brightness, reliable long-term operation and accurate color reproduction. Built around Texas Instruments DDR DLP™ technology and Sharp’s TrueVision™ (DDP2000) image processing, it combines strong visual performance with low maintenance requirements, making it well suited to portable use as well as fixed installations.
The XR-20S features SVGA native resolution (800 × 600) and delivers up to 2300 ANSI lumens, with support for computer signals up to SXGA+ (1400 × 1050) and compatibility with DTV and HDTV formats. A low-power Eco & Quiet mode reduces fan noise while extending lamp life to up to 3,000 hours, helping lower overall cost of ownership.
High-Brightness DDR DLP™ Imaging
At the core of the projector is Texas Instruments DDR DLP™ display technology paired with TrueVision™ (DDP2000) advanced video circuitry. This combination ensures stable operation, consistent brightness, and clean image processing across both computer and video sources, even during extended daily use.
Enhanced Color Accuracy and Optical Performance
A 3× speed, 4-segment color wheel works in conjunction with the Condenser Lens Optical System to improve color uniformity and reduce artifacts such as rainbow effects. Additional image controls including sRGB support, color temperature adjustment and Bright Boost contribute to accurate and well-balanced image reproduction with a 2000:1 contrast ratio.
Wide Computer and Video Compatibility
Native SVGA resolution allows easy integration with legacy and modern systems, while scaling support up to SXGA+ ensures compatibility with higher-resolution computers. The projector also supports DTV and HDTV formats, enabling direct connection to DVD players, tuners, VCRs and video game systems without additional processing equipment.
Low Power Eco & Quiet Operation
A dedicated Eco & Quiet mode reduces power consumption and fan noise while extending lamp life to up to 3,000 hours. This operating mode is particularly beneficial in classrooms and meeting rooms where reduced acoustic noise and lower operating costs are critical.
Sealed Optical Engine
The projector uses a sealed optical design that does not require an air filter. By preventing dust and debris from entering the optical path, this design minimizes routine maintenance, maintains image quality over time, and extends the operational lifespan of internal components.
Comprehensive Control and Connectivity
A full complement of inputs and outputs, including RGB loop-through, stereo variable audio line output and RS-232C control, allows flexible system integration. These connections support both portable presentation setups and higher-end installed applications.
Presentation and Setup Tools
An on-screen setup guide and integrated Help function simplify installation and configuration. The supplied wireless remote control supports standard projector functions along with PC back/forward control, image freeze and a break timer for structured presentations when used with the optional AN-MR2 IR receiver.
Compact and Lightweight Design
With its compact chassis and lightweight construction, the projector is easy to transport between rooms while still offering the connectivity and performance expected from a permanently installed system. This balance makes it an effective solution for educators, presenters and integrators alike.
