Modular Digital Cinema Projection
The Sharp NC-2424M is a professional DCI-compliant cinema projector designed for medium-sized venues and premium-format screens up to 22 metres wide. Its 3-chip DLP Cinema® architecture produces a native 2048 × 1080 2K image, while the modular RB laser system allows the light output to be matched to the requirements of the installation.
High-Power RB Laser System
The NC-2424M uses a red-and-blue (RB) laser light source with exchangeable 24,000, 20,000 and 18,000-lumen light modules. The 24,000-lumen configuration is specified at up to 24,500 lumens, providing the output required for screens up to 22 metres while retaining the flexibility to select a lower-output module where appropriate.
2K Cinema Image Quality
2048 × 1080 native resolution is delivered by a 0.98-inch S2K DLP Cinema® chip, providing the precise pixel structure required for digital cinema presentation. A specified 2000:1 contrast ratio with DCI colour representation provides strong separation between dark and bright image areas and supports accurate cinematic reproduction.
Low-Maintenance Laser Operation
The laser light source is rated for up to 50,000 hours, eliminating conventional lamp replacement and substantially reducing routine maintenance. The sealed optical engine helps minimise dust ingress, while the laser architecture also reduces ongoing replacement requirements and contributes to a lower total cost of ownership.
Flexible Cinema Installation
Motorised zoom, focus and horizontal and vertical lens shift provide precise optical adjustment during installation, with a range of interchangeable cinema lenses covering throw ratios from approximately 1.2:1 to 6.52:1. The projector supports front or rear projection in either desk or ceiling orientation, allowing it to accommodate a wide variety of cinema layouts.
3D and High Frame Rate Support
HFR 3D support enables 48 Hz per eye and 60 Hz per eye operation, while the digital cinema architecture maintains the full 2K image resolution for 3D content. This makes the system suitable for feature films and other premium cinema presentations where smooth motion and detailed stereoscopic imagery are required.
Professional Cinema Integration
Gigabit Ethernet, RS-232C and GPIO control provide integration with cinema automation and monitoring systems, while optional Dolby IMS3000 integration adds media-server functionality. The design also incorporates internal liquid cooling for the optical system without requiring an external chiller, helping simplify installation of this high-output cinema platform.
