High-precision optics and flexible installation
The TW500 is equipped with a premium 1.5x manual zoom lens and offers both vertical and horizontal lens shift, allowing for highly adaptable placement options. Whether ceiling-mounted or placed off-centre, image alignment is simple to adjust without introducing distortion or keystone artifacts.
Enhanced contrast with dynamic iris
With a contrast ratio of up to 1000:1, the projector delivers deeper blacks and more defined shadow detail. The automatic iris system dynamically adjusts brightness scene-by-scene, improving realism in both dark and bright content.
Faroudja DCDi™ video processing
To ensure the smoothest possible images from standard-definition sources, the TW500 integrates motion-adaptive Faroudja DCDi™ technology. This advanced processing eliminates jagged edges from interlaced content by converting it to progressive scan, resulting in fluid, natural-looking diagonal lines.
10-bit colour accuracy and smooth gradation
The EMP-TW500 uses a 10-bit A/D converter, 10-bit chroma decoder, and 10-bit LCD drive to deliver highly precise colour rendering. This processing depth helps reproduce subtle tones and colour transitions, capturing the full richness of HD and film content.
Advanced colour control along six axes
With Epson’s proprietary colour correction algorithm, the TW500 enables hue and saturation adjustment along six separate colour axes: red, green, blue, cyan, magenta, and yellow. This granular control allows for precise calibration, ideal for users with dedicated home theatre rooms or colour-sensitive applications.
True 720p native resolution
With 1280 x 720 pixels on a 16:9 panel, the EMP-TW500 is ready for HD sources and maintains excellent sharpness without scaling. It displays film content in its original aspect ratio, providing a cinematic viewing experience at home.
Quiet operation for immersive viewing
Operating at just 26 dB in economy mode, the projector stays unobtrusive even during quiet dialogue or ambient scenes. Its sound-insulated fan system preserves the atmosphere of a dedicated home theatre environment.
Comprehensive connectivity
The TW500 offers inputs for component video, S-Video, composite, and VGA, making it compatible with a wide range of AV sources including DVD players, set-top boxes, and older game consoles. This flexibility makes it easy to integrate into any home entertainment setup.
Simple maintenance and long lamp life
The top-loading lamp access and front-facing air filter make servicing straightforward, even in ceiling-mounted installations. The projector uses Epson’s E-TORL lamp system, designed for efficient output and extended operation with minimal power consumption.
