The Casio XJ-S42 is a slim, high-brightness XGA projector designed for business presentations, education and portable professional use, combining 2,700 ANSI lumens with XGA (1024 × 768) resolution and a 1,800:1 contrast ratio. Its 0.55-inch DLP® chip and exceptionally compact 270 × 199 × 43mm chassis deliver a highly portable presentation solution at just 1.8kg, while the 2× optical zoom with electric focus provides useful flexibility when positioning the projector.

The XJ-S42 is built around fast, straightforward presentation setup, featuring automatic vertical keystone correction up to ±30°, 2× digital zoom, direct power-on, instant power-off, freeze, blank and pointer functions. It accepts RGB computer/component video and composite video, with RS-232C control, a 1W mono speaker and support for projection sizes from 15 to 300 inches. The 210W high-pressure mercury lamp is rated for approximately 2,000 hours, with Whisper Mode reducing operating noise to around 31dB.

  • Pointer functions provide an on-screen presentation aid for highlighting specific areas of charts, documents and other material.
  • Digital zoom allows details within the displayed image to be enlarged for closer examination.
  • Multiple colour modes allow the picture characteristics to be adjusted for different presentation and viewing requirements.
  • The RGB input also accepts component-video signals, allowing the same connection to handle compatible computer and video sources.
  • Composite video and stereo audio are supported through the 3.5 mm AV connection for multimedia presentations.
  • RS-232C control provides an interface for integration with external control equipment and presentation-room systems.
  • Password protection helps restrict unauthorised operation of the projector.
