The 1500 ANSI lumens projector produces an image that is both bright and clear, as well as being easy on student’s eyes. The LV-X5 displays crisp images with high-resolution native XGA projection (1024 x 768 pixels), which can be increased to UXGA resolution (1600 x 1200) using compression. With an affordable price tag and long lamp life of up to 4000 hours, the LV-X5 is designed with education budgets in mind.
With extremely quiet operation - just 28 dBA in Quiet Mode - the projector creates no distracting noise in the classroom. Start up and shut down times have been reduced by over 60%, so this lightweight (3.2 kg) projector is easy to set up and pack up quickly, as well as being ultra-portable. The LV-X5 incorporates a range of features to automatically maximize image quality and increase flexibility of use. These include Automatic Keystone Correction to automatically compensate for image distortion when the projector is angled up or down, and Wall Colour Correction to optimize the image on a range of different wall colours, including a Blackboard Mode.
Canon quality projection
The low cost of the LV-X5 doesn’t mean compromising on quality. A compact Canon 1.2x zoom lens offers high quality projection with a wide range, producing large 100" images from a throw distance of only 3 metres. The native XGA resolution provides ample detail for educational use, while a 300:1 contrast ratio ensures vivid colours, bright whites and true blacks are produced. With 1500 Lumens of brightness, images are clearly displayed, while meeting recommended brightness levels¹ for use in classrooms with children.
The LV-X5 uses progressive scanning, which draws the entire frame continuously from top to bottom, greatly reducing flicker and producing cleaner diagonal lines and text compared to projectors using interlaced scanning.
Lamp flicker is also eliminated with the LV-X5’s direct current power source - traditional projector lamps use an AC power source and can have a tendency to flicker, which can cause eyestrain and distraction.
Easy set-up
The LV-X5 can be operated without distortion even when not placed perpendicular to the screen - trapezium distortion is automatically corrected by the projector, which senses a tilt of up to +/- 30 degrees. In rooms where a projection screen is not available the new Wall Colour Correction feature ensures images are optimized for projecting onto a blackboard or coloured wall - the projector compensates for the background colour to create a natural colour scheme. Seven colours are catered for: blackboard green, light yellow, light green, light blue, sky blue, light rose and pink.
After it is connected to a computer or other video source, the LV-X5’s Auto PC Adjust automatically detects the signal type and resolution, and adjusts the projector’s settings accordingly - requiring no complex manual adjustments by the user. An external monitor can be connected to the RGB Output Port so that presenters can face their audience and see what is being projected.
With a quick start-up time there is minimal delay waiting for images to appear: just moments after turning it on, the LV-X5 is ready to project. When shutting down, the projector is ready to be packed away after just 30 seconds of cooling time.
